Conference league
A tough fight for the key fifteenth place in the coefficient. The Czech Republic has to work hard, but the fight is not lost yet
The European and European Conference League featured three Czech teams. But the third round of these competitions could have been much better! Sparta had a great game against Lyon and Jablonec was looking for a win against Randers from Denmark.
The European and European Conference League featured three Czech teams. But the third round of these competitions could have been much better! Sparta had a great game against Lyon and Jablonec was looking for a win against Randers from Denmark. Even Slavia could have got at least a draw in Israel, but only Jablonec managed to get points for Czech football. Both Prague “S” fell.
What does this mean for the Czech Republic’s coefficient? Thanks to Jablonec’s draw we add 0.3 points to the table, unfortunately the Prague teams add nothing. A lot of criticism is being heaped on Slavia, who once again failed to make the trip to Israel, where they lost to Maccabi Haifa (0-1).
Despite the bad round, we still have a real chance to finish in the final fifteenth position, which would guarantee us the participation of 5 teams in European competitions in the 2023/2024 season.
We are currently in 18th place and 15th. We are only 0.3 points behind the Croatians. On the other hand, we will fight for the key position with numerous competitors.
We have lost one battle, but there are still more to come, which can help us in the war for the coveted position.
Jablonec is still basically playing for promotion. The Seškis must work hard and try to capture at least second place in the group.
Sparta still have everything in their hands and can think about both second and third place, which will guarantee them a cup spring.
