The first El Clásico without Messi, Ronaldo and Ramos still promised an interesting spectacle. Karim Benzema playing in incredible form, young guns Vinícius, Rodrygo and Fati. But David Alaba opened the scoring.

The start of El Clásico was rather lukewarm from both sides. Neither side wanted to make a mistake, with a lot of safety at the back.

However, from about the 15th minute onwards, the players’ legs got a bit loose and the show began. Firstly, Vinícius had a beautiful run into the box and went over three players, but his fall was too much for a penalty.

Moments later, Dest had a huge chance. Depay’s pass across the whitewash was intended to be handled by Fati, but he left the ball to Dest, who was all alone in the small area. But the goal was a penalty.

In the 32nd minute, David Alaba made a world-class save. The Real Madrid stopper showed what it means to be a modern defender.

First, Alaba won the ball on Memphis Depay in his own penalty area, passed it to Vinícius and fired into the attack. The Brazilian striker could have slid the ball to him down the left flank already, but he opted for an aerial pass to Rodrygo on the other wing.

He worked the ball, moved it and sent a cross to Alaba. The Austrian footballer tucked the ball into the box and opened the scoring with an incredible shot towards the bar.
