Walk can be a champion, Oezdemir believes. He would like to fight him for the title in a rematch
Jiří Procházka is still preparing for the possibility to take part in the title match, in which he is a substitute if one of the participants is unable to take part. In the meantime, the man who welcomed him to the UFC had some flattering words for him.
Jiří Procházka is still preparing for the opportunity to take part in the title fight, in which he is a substitute if one of the participants is unable to take part. In the meantime, the man who welcomed him to the UFC had some flattering words for him.
Coming up on October 30, we’ll see a UFC welterweight title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira. Jiri Prochazka will fly to the United Arab Emirates as the official replacement.
It was Volkan Oezdemir, who was his first opponent in the UFC, who commented on the Moravian fighter. Procházka landed a lot of punches, but he won the fight in the second round and became the first ever to knock Oezdemir out.
“Walk brings something special to MMA. He has the skills to be a champion. No one should take him lightly. He’s really tough. If he gets a chance to fight for the title, I have high hopes for him,” Oezdemir let slip in an interview with MMA Junkie.
“He’s a really interesting fighter. His character, his face, his attitude and the way he moves… He has to have attention, he deserves it. He has a great life story,” he added.
He also commented on their fight against each other. He says that he would do many things differently in a potential rematch, as he really learned from the loss. He can imagine himself fighting Prochazka for the welterweight title.
But for that to happen, both fighters have to fight each other first. The rematch could be really interesting though.
