Gerrard confuses Slavia with Sparta and the fans laugh at him: You don’t even know who you played against!

Steven Gerrard played against Slavia in March and lost 1:3 on aggregate. A few months later he faced Sparta, who he also lost to, this time 0:1. However, in an interview he confused Slavia with Sparta, for which the fans laughed at him.

When Steven Gerrard came for an interview after the Sparta game, he made the same mistake. However, he also wouldn’t have liked it if Pavel Vrba had confused Rangers with Celtic, or maybe Liverpool with Everton.

“We have to win the next game against Brondby to have a chance. In terms of performance, I think Slavia were quite calm in creating chances…,” Gerrard said in an interview with the club’s TV channel
