Koeman walked out of the press conference after the announcement: We have to manage without money, don’t expect miracles in LM

Barcelona fans are going through hell. Their beloved club is being hit by one blow after another, with coach Ronald Koeman in a rather unenviable situation. So he didn’t respond to any questions from journalists at the press conference, he just read out prepared statements and left the room.

Last week, Barcelona ignominiously lost 0:3 to Bayern at home, and on Monday they again drew with Granada at the Camp Nou, equalizing only in the 90th minute.

Instead of a neat tiki-taka, coach Koeman has been resorting to kicking balls into the box in recent matches, with the tall De Jong operating at the tip, and against Granada he was joined by stoppers Piqué and Araujo towards the end of the match. And the fans don’t like that.

Before Thursday’s game against Cadiz, Koeman came to the press conference a bit upset. He didn’t answer the journalists’ questions at all, just read a three-minute statement and left.

Koeman’s statement::

“Good morning, everyone. The club is in a rebuilding situation with me as coach. The financial situation of the club is linked to sporting success and vice versa. This means that we have to rebuild our team without big financial investments. And that takes time.

Today’s talents can be world stars in a few years. The good thing about rebuilding a team is that young players will get opportunities like Xavi and Iniesta had in their time, but it takes patience. Placing in the top tiers of the La Liga table would be an achievement.

European football is a great school for these young talents. You cannot expect miracles in the Champions League. You have to put last week’s defeat against Bayern Munich in perspective. The process this roster is in deserves to be fully supported, we have to trust our journey and the process we are creating here.

I know the media knows the process. It’s not the first time in Barcelona’s history that this is happening. We count on your support in these difficult times.
