Král: Fans are celebrating Soucek and Coufal. I want to build a position like them

Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal have become absolute fan favourites thanks to their performances at West Ham. Another Czech international, Alex Král, would like to build the same position in London.

King joined West Ham at the end of the transfer window from Spartak Moscow. He knew from the start that he would have to wait for his chance first, as two of the team’s mainstays, Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, play in his position.

So in the first three games he soaked up the atmosphere of the Premier League and Europa League only from the bench, but in the League Cup his chance came. And King could hardly have imagined a better debut.

“I wanted my debut to go well, and it did. What more could I ask for? First game for West Ham, a sell-out Old Trafford, a win. Wonderful,” said King in an interview with Sport.cz

He met Vladimír Coufal and Tomáš Souček, whom he already knows from both Slavia and the Czech national team. Both have earned a lot of respect among the Kladivar fans not only for their performances but also for their demeanour.

“When they go on the pitch or get off the bus, the fans greet them enthusiastically, they celebrate them. They are a great motivation for me. I want to build a position like them,” says the 23-year-old midfielder.

His debut performance was a success and he was highly praised by the fans. If he continues to do well, he could soon become another big favourite with West Ham fans.
