Another giant joins the battle to acquire Mbappé
With Kylian Mbappe’s contract expiring in June and no interest in an extension, he is apparently on his way out of PSG. Real Madrid are the big bidders for his services, but Manchester City are also looking to take the fight to him.
With Kylian Mbappe’s contract expiring in June and no interest in an extension, he is apparently on his way out of PSG. Real Madrid are the big bidders for his services, but Manchester City are also looking to take the fight to him.
Real Madrid have been interested in the French youngster for a long time, but so far no transfer offer has convinced PSG management. Now, Real Madrid has a better chance of acquiring the player, as his contract expires at the end of this season, which means that Real Madrid could start negotiations for Mbappé’s possible transfer as early as January.
However, Manchester City are also likely to join the fight against Real Madrid. The owner of the Citizens wants to bring Mbappé at any cost. After unsuccessfully negotiating with Kane and Ronaldo in the summer, they certainly won’t want to come out of transfer talks with the star player empty-handed again.
Manchester City haven’t had the typical spearhead striker Pep Guardiola would have wanted in his team since the departure of Sergio Agüero. Ronaldo and Kane were good alternatives, but neither worked out.
That’s why Manchester City have to look elsewhere. Pep Guardiola believes Mbappé would be a great fit in his system. He will be willing to spend whatever means possible to get him.
There is still a chance that Mbappé will stay at PSG. That would leave Manchester City and Real Madrid to look for another striker. Both teams have the same name in their sights. It is the talented goal scorer from Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland. We’re only at the end of September, but it’s already certain that we’re in for an interesting winter transfer window once again.
