The five most valuable Czech football players under 21
It is clear that Adam Hložek has been the most valuable and promising Czech football talent for a long time. But who are his pursuers? One surprising name can be found in the rankings and it also confirms how well Sparta works with youth.
It is clear that Adam Hložek has been the most valuable and promising Czech football talent for a long time. But who are his pursuers? One surprising name can be found in the rankings and it also confirms how well Sparta works with youth.
5. place – Martin Vitik (Sparta, 18 years old), 1.5 million euros
Sparta’s revelation of the past season is still languishing in the current one. He has played more for Sparta’s B team in the second league than for the A team. This is due to the fact that both Stetina and Panak have got back together after prolonged health problems.
Vitik needs to play regularly. Last year’s Europa League matches showed him a completely different level of football than he encounters in the Czech league. He also played at the European Under-21 Championship, but he didn’t give his best performance there.
4. place – Adam Karabec (Sparta, 18 years old), 2 million euro
In the current season, Adam Karabec is finally getting more space. The left-footed creative midfielder excels with his ball work, fine technique, vision and quality passing. Like Vitik, he played at the small Euro in the spring, where he was one of the better Czech players.
At Sparta, Karabec should be given more opportunities in the Europa League to get used to international football. Of course, his position at the club is mainly Bořek Dočkal, but it is obvious that Karabec should push the veteran out of the lineup more and more.
3. place – Lukáš Horníček (Braga, 19 years old), 2 million euros
Probably an unfamiliar name on this list for some. He is a 194 cm tall goalkeeper, a Pardubice product who left for Portugal at the age of 17. He came to Braga for 1 million euros.
In this Portuguese club he went through nineteen, thirty-three and is currently in the B team. He played 24 games for Braga’s thirty-three and kept 5 clean sheets. Together with Jaroš or Kovář, they are the future of Czech goalkeeping.
2. place – David Zima (FC Torino, 20 years old), 7.5 million euros
A fresh signing from the Italian Serie A team and a central defender whose career has rocketed. Slavia earned 4.6 million euros on him, as he left for Turin for less than 6 million. His performances in Europe helped him, but also his collaboration with Ondrej Kudelo.
In his new position he showed a good performance and a goal assist in the first game. The national team will also benefit from his qualities in the future. So far, Zima has played twice for the national team.
1. place – Adam Hložek (Sparta, 19 years old), 17 million euro
Adam Hložek is rightly at the top of this ranking. He was the top scorer in the Czech league, he plays for the national team, where he also played at the Euro and didn’t drop significantly, but he should make a bigger impact in European cups.
He shouldn’t put off a big move abroad either. He should say goodbye to Sparta next summer at the latest, because it would not move him further in football. The national team would suffer as a result. Hložek has all the prerequisites for that.
