The possible departure of the Portuguese gem from Juventus has been speculated for quite some time. Even a year ago. But it’s only now. Just a few days after the management of the Turin team declared that Cristiano Ronaldo is not going anywhere. What’s more, the Portuguese himself denied the speculation on social media.
However, he didn’t enter the first league game from the start, as he had already announced his intention to leave to the club, and he didn’t feature at all in the second one, as he was already a Manchester United player.
Everything happened extremely quickly. All of a sudden. In Turin, such a departure is not taken lightly. It’s almost disrespectful to Juventus. It was not helped by Ronaldo’s sister, who posted a post on Instagram welcoming him back to Manchester United, saying that he is finally at a club worthy of his person.
Two former Juventus stars also commented on the Portuguese’s departure. Alessio Tacchinardi and Sergio Brio. The former played 404 games for the Bianconeri, the latter 379.
“Juventus fans deserved a different farewell. Ronaldo should have shown more respect towards the club. He should have left in a different way. While Allegri was at the pre-match press conference, Ronaldo left on a private jet,” Tacchinardi disagrees with the way the Portuguese left the club.
Brio agrees: ‘I would have expected a big press conference, a farewell to the fans. In Turin, people worshipped him. I didn’t expect Cristiano to leave like that. It’s not nice of him. He’s still a great player and professional, but the ending should have been different.”
But now Juventus must focus on how to get by without their main offensive star. The season has already started and not very well for the Turin outfit.
