Former Slavia midfielder Petr Janda, who was a member of the successful Sešice campaign in the Champions League, has experienced misfortune with his family. His two-year-old son suffered a cervical spinal cord injury and needs expensive treatment for a chance at life and a better life. With the help of Slavia, journalist Ondrej Zlámal and many others, the idea of a charity match between Slavia 2007 and Team Janda was born.
The charity match took place in Strakonice and thanks to the national team break there was no shortage of spectators. Former canon player and current team manager Stanislav Vlček handed over a cheque collected in the current Slavia cabin, which had a nice amount of 250 000 crowns on it. But the amount Jakoubek needs for the first two years of his demanding treatment reaches almost CZK 4 million.
Anyway, now we take a look at the beautiful clips from the charity duel, in which many of the legends of Slavia showed up. Do you remember this line-up?
How about Tijani Belaid or Mickaël Tavares? Really incredible gesture. The match was reportedly watched by up to 1,200 spectators!
