Puma’s new jerseys spoil children’s dreams! Watch how a Fenerbahce footballer confusedly searched for the emblem
Probably every little football player dreamed of it. To score a goal for his beloved club, to run in front of enthusiastic fans and kiss the emblem in great euphoria. But Puma has taken that dream away with its new jerseys.
Probably every little football player dreamed of it. To score a goal for his beloved club, to run in front of enthusiastic fans and kiss the emblem in great euphoria. But Puma has taken that dream away with its new jerseys.
Puma has released new jerseys in the past week, which have received a great wave of criticism. It’s no wonder, they look like practice shirts, plus Puma made the exact same design for about 10 teams.
The biggest change is the removal of the club crest. In its place hangs a large Puma emblem on the chest, with the club’s name in letters underneath.
This change has upset not only the fans, but also the players. In the Europa League preliminary round, Fenerbahce played against HJK from Finland, and by the 60th minute the score was still 0:0. But then Mesut Özil was replaced by 20-year-old Muhammed Gumuskaya, for whom it was only the second competitive start for Fenerbahce.
After three minutes on the pitch, he scored a goal and like a proper offspring, he wanted to fulfill his childhood dream. He ran in front of the fans and wanted to kiss the emblem of his beloved club. But what didn’t happen, Gumuskaya looked for the emblem for a while in confusion, but couldn’t find it. Only after a while did he realise that Puma had actually removed the emblems from the new jerseys.
Gumuskaya could at least be pleased that his goal gave Fenerbahce a narrow 1-0 win over HJK. However, Puma should learn a lesson for next time that this is not really the way to go.
