Short or hero? According to the fans, Silný from Lišná did the right thing, the coach can’t find a name for him

Sunday’s derby between Zbrojovka Brno and Líšní offered not only football action but also a fan invasion on the pitch. Jan Silný, a player from Lišná, tried to calm down the aggressive fool, but according to the rules he was given a red card. And the reaction to this act varies considerably.
At the end of the Brno derby, two Zbrojovka fans invaded the pitch, one aggressively attacked the organiser and started kicking him on the ground. Lišná’s striker Jan Silný didn’t want to see that and grabbed the rioter by his tie and pacified him himself.
Unfortunately, the rules do not allow contact between a player and a fan and the main referee Radek Dubravský had no choice but to issue Silný with a red card. Brno then took advantage of the power play when Jakub Řezníček scored in the 93rd minute.
“The guy kicked an old man, which I absolutely don’t understand. Silňas acted like a man. I have some sympathy for that, but his sending off probably decided the game,” said Jan Hladík, a player from Zbrojovka, to Deník Sport after the match.
Silný received the same reaction on social media from all the fans and experts, who completely understood why the 26-year-old footballer made the decision he did.
However, he received a completely different reaction from his own coach. “A total short circuit of our striker. I don’t even want to say his name. He made me very angry,” said Lišná coach Milan Valachovič.
Although Silny received a red card, he has to fear a stop sign from an angry coach rather than a stop sign from the disciplinary board. Radek Příhoda, chairman of the referees’ committee, also defended the player.
“I have to humanly stand up for the player from Lišná. He prevented another attack on the organizers and in my opinion in a reasonable way. I think that DK will take everything into account,” wrote Radek Příhoda on his Twitter account.
