West Ham are top of the league for the second time in their history! Some Hammers fans are ecstatic, others are calling for calm

West Ham and Czech players Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal are rewriting the club’s history. A 4-1 win over Leicester put the Hammers on top of the Premier League. Only two rounds have been played, yet some fans are in total ecstasy, others prefer to calm them down.

A phenomenal game at the London Stadium! Visiting Leicester City played through half-time without the suspended Ayoze Perez, but the home side totally dominated. A few seasons ago, the Hammers probably wouldn’t have dominated this much against a team of 10 players.

The xG metric (number of expected goals) suggests that the game was likely to offer fewer goals. But those who saw the game must admit that even a 4::1 result is appropriate for the course of the game.

History was rewritten twice in this match. The first record is familiar to you, West Ham are in first place for only the second time in their history after the league round.

The second record was broken by the killer striker Michail Antonio! He became the club’s top scorer in the Premier League. With his 48th goal, Antonio secured his place at the top of the historical table, surpassing the legendary Paolo Di Canio (47 goals).

This is well remembered by some West Ham fans who immediately called for calm and demanded that the self-serving post be deleted.
