It was supposed to be the fulfillment of a big dream. Sergio Agüero was going to Barcelona to finally play at club level with his great friend Lionel Messi. But so far, the Catalan engagement looks like a nightmare.

Sergio Agüero served Manchester City faithfully for ten years, where he won several trophies and scored countless goals. Last season, also due to injuries, Pep Guardiola didn’t use him as much, so neither side was interested in extending his expiring contract.

The Argentine goalscorer headed to Catalonia, where he was finally going to play at club level with one of his best mates, Lionel Messi. The two partners haven’t even trained together once and Messi is already at PSG.

The club couldn’t sign its icon because of huge debts, and it can’t register new signings, among which Kun also belongs. Other players not on the roster at the moment are Memphis Depay, Eric García and Emerson.

the 33-year-old forward is said to have engaged his lawyers after Messi’s departure to find a way to terminate Barcelona’s contract. But it might happen from the other side.

Agüero has suffered a calf injury which will rule him out of the game for 10 weeks. His frequent injuries have hampered his career recently and the Catalans wanted to protect themselves from that.

The journalist Adrián Sánchez in the podcast Más que Pelotas gave an interesting piece of information. Barcelona reportedly have a clause in Agüero’s contract that allows them to terminate his contract if the Argentine is out too often.

So it’s quite possible that Agüero won’t even kick off at the Camp Nou and will move on again. It’s already clear at this point that the calf injury won’t let him play until November at the earliest. That is, if Barcelona have the patience to not terminate the Argentine’s contract.
