The match of a lifetime! It’s not so much about the title as it is about the opponent, says Kincl

Patrik Kincl will face welterweight champion Robert Soldic in a title fight in early September. He was supposed to face the latter back in 2019, but an injury stopped Kincl then. What has he said about the fight now?
His last loss dates back to June 2018, when he succumbed to Karlos Vémol at XFN 11. Since then, he has won five fights, two of them in the KSW organization.
In the prestigious Polish organization, he first dealt a KO to Tomasz Drwal, then won by TKO over Tomasz Romanowski.
Now he faces the biggest challenge of his career in a title fight against the reigning champion, Croatian Robert Soldic.
“He’s a tough and fast striker. He can hit offensively and from behind. But I see places where he opens up. His speed will be a big unknown. On the other hand, he’s going into welterweight for the first time in a while, and that could play into my hands,” Kincl said in an interview with MMA Shorties.
Kincl doesn’t go into the fight as a favorite, with odds on him winning hovering around 3. At least the fact that the fight will not take place in Croatia, where it was previously scheduled, but eventually in Poland, plays into his hands.
“For me it is the fight of my life. Honestly, I don’t care about the title so much as I care about the opponent, who is one of the top fighters,” said the Czech fighter.
