Bayern don’t have to worry about their star! Kimmich is about to sign a long-term contract
Joshua Kimmich is currently one of the best footballers on the planet. No wonder Bayern Munich don’t want to lose him at any cost. And probably won’t anytime soon.
Joshua Kimmich is currently one of the best footballers on the planet. No wonder Bayern Munich don’t want to lose him at any cost. And probably won’t anytime soon.
When Bayern bought Joshua Kimmich in 2015 for just €8.5 million from Stuttgart, they quite possibly made one of the best investments in their history.
First he turned out to be one of the best flank backs on the planet, and now he’s managing to shine in the centre of midfield for a change. It doesn’t matter which position he plays, he is one of the world’s best in both.
He currently has 261 competitive games for Bayern, scoring 30 goals and adding 71 assists. An absolutely fantastic record for a non-offensive player.
There has been speculation in the past about a possible departure of Kimmich from Munich, but it never happened. Also because the club has accommodated the player in some of his demands. One of the demands was a permanent move to the midfield.
In 2023, the 26-year-old all-rounder’s contract is due to expire, but according to information available to Bild, the Bavarian giant need not fear his departure.
According to reports, a new contract should be signed soon, which would keep Kimmich at the club until 2026. The player would then be paid €10 million per season, which is double his current wages.
But apart from that, Bayern are working on a new contract for Leon Goretzka, who is showing tremendous progress. In short, the future of the Munich side does not look bad at all.
