The best footballer in history ends up in Europe. After stints in Barcelona and Paris, a new adventure awaits him in the United States. He will sign for Inter Miami and that is a big thing for football in America.
Fans had hoped that he would return to Barcelona at least for a while, but for obvious reasons, which he explained, he decided not to do so. However, the blame is in no way on his side.
Lionel Messi turned down an astronomical sum from Al-Hilal, he also had offers from Europe, but he did not accept any. Without Barcelona, staying in Europe was not an option for him.
Moreover, the Argentine idol has evaluated his two years at PSG. And that’s not a positive thing to say. On the contrary.
“I end with mixed feelings. The first year was very difficult for various reasons. The second year? The first six months I felt great in the city and the club. But in the middle of the season there was the World Cup and that marked all the teams and the season,” Messi admitted to Mundo Deportivo.
“I expected to end up differently in Paris, but unfortunately. It was two years that were generally difficult for me, but they are behind me now,” added the seven Ballon d’Or winner.
Messi also noted that it has not been easy for his family. But Barcelona, or rather the end of it, also had a part to play, when everything changed overnight. He was supposed to sign a new contract, instead he found out he had to say goodbye.
He left for Paris in a hurry, had to make all the arrangements at the last minute, lived with his family in a hotel for a while. In short, as the Argentine claims, his family life in Paris suffered. In Miami, he wants the opposite.
