Slavia Prague vs. Ferencváros: Preview and betting tips
The first match in Hungary was not a success for Slavia, so they have a lot to improve in the home rematch. Against Ferencváros, they must win by at least 2 goals to take the match into extra time.
The first game in Hungary was not a success for Slavia, so they have a lot to fix in the home rematch. Against Ferencváros, they must win by at least 2 goals to take the match into extra time.
Ferencváros should be a very acceptable opponent. In the beginning of the game it looked like it, Slavia came at their opponent at a great pace, in the first thirty minutes they controlled the pace of the game.
But football is about mistakes and Ferencváros took advantage of them. First, in the 44th minute, Kacharab’s pass skipped over Kolář’s foot and into the net, and after the change of sides, the Ukrainian stopper fouled his opponent in the whitewash and the Hungarian side led 2:0.
Slavia, however, believe that the promotion is not lost. The home stadium, where at least 15,000 people are expected to attend, should have a stormy atmosphere that will propel the Susians towards a turnaround.
Converting chances will be crucial for the Red and Whites. Ferencváros will almost certainly lie low and wait for breakout situations, which, by the way, the Sešiovan defence must be very careful of. However, in the attacking phase, the vast majority of the time they will be conquering a locked opponent, so Slavia must bring every chance to a successful end.
Nicolae Stanciu showed good form in the first match, and he has been the driving force for Slavia this season. However, his creativity must be joined by other players and together they must push the opponents into a tight spot.
Ivan Schranz, who has been playing in good form, is quite likely to start from the beginning. Peter Olayinka may start in place of Srdjan Plavsic, who substituted the Serbian midfielder at half-time in the Groupama Arena.
Slavia can be expected to come at their opponents and will want to score as soon as possible at any cost. Thanks to the abolition of the rule about goals scored on the opponents’ pitches, they can easily concede, a possible 3:1 result would still send the match into extra time.
At the same time, Ferencváros will want to strike on the break, so some goals can be expected. I believe Slavia will win and at least 2 goals will be scored.
