England international Ben White transfers from Brighton to Arsenal in the English Premier League. The Gunners confirmed his arrival today. They will pay 50 million pounds for him. The young stopper has agreed a six-year contract with Arsenal, he will earn 100 thousand pounds a week.
The former Brighton player becomes coach Arteta’s third signing of the summer. Before him, Arsenal acquired talented midfielder Mboya Lokonga and young defender Tavares. White’s arrival is the 3rd most expensive purchase in the club’s history.
It took a while for this deal to come to fruition as the first two bids were rejected by Brighton management. By the third time, both sides had reached an agreement.
The amount of 50 million pounds was already enough and nothing prevented the transfer of the English defender to the Canaries.
Twenty-three-year-old White will wear the number 4 on his back at Arsenal. He made his name two years ago while on loan at Leeds, whom he helped to promotion to the Premier League. Last season he was a mainstay for Brighton, for whom he played 39 games.
” Ben was a big transfer target of ours and it’s great that we have managed to make this transfer happen. He has played at Leeds and Brighton in the past and has confirmed what a great talent he is.”
“He is a very clever player who likes to play with the ball on his kicks. His game fits perfectly with our style. He is still very young and has a lot of potential. We are looking forward to working together and have long-term plans for him.”
the 23-year-old Briton is part of the England national team’s wider squad. He was called up for a pre-European Championship training camp but did not make the final squad. He was eventually nominated after an injury to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
