The New Saints vs. Pilsen: Preview and betting tips

Plzeň will play the first match of the third round of the Conference Europa League on Thursday at The New Saints. Will Bílka’s team confirm their good form or will they unexpectedly leave without a point?

The Welsh side have been travelling through the Conference Europa League since the first preliminary round. In it, after a draw and a win, they eliminated Northern Ireland’s Glentoran and then Lithuania’s Kauno Žalgaris, scoring a total of ten goals (10: 2).

Viktoria started the preliminary round a bit further ahead, but got a slightly tougher opponent. Nevertheless, they handled Dinamo Brest with relative ease, and the two 2:1 wins also helped their league coefficient.

The home team’s midfielder Leo Smith is in excellent form, scoring four goals and assisting twice in the cups this season. The other five goals were scored by spearhead striker Declan McManus, who scored three times and set up two goals.

Jean-David Beauguel is coming into form in a Pilsen jersey, scoring twice in the last three games. Pavel Šulc, Radim Reznik and Jhon Mosquera are also doing well.

Although the Welsh vice-champion is scoring goals, the defensive system is not working ideally. He hasn’t kept a clean sheet for six games.

Even Plzeň have scored in their last four games, or rather won each time by 2:1. It has taken three points in six games in a row.

Given Viktoria’s good form, I think they will win the game and score at least two goals.
