How many people watched the Czech Republic’s matches at the Euro?
The year 2021 still bears the very rough imprints of a global pandemic. But at the same time, it has already offered far more to enjoy than 2020! The ice hockey World Cup was played, but most importantly also Euro 2020 football.
The year 2021 still bears the very rough imprints of a global pandemic. But at the same time, it has already offered far more to enjoy than 2020! The World Cup was played, but also the Euro 2020 football tournament (played in 2021). So sports fans literally had a feast and CT collected very nice numbers in viewership!
And how did the Czech Republic’s matches do in terms of ratings? National pride is definitely not dead yet! Football is becoming less and less popular with the general public, as a recent survey by a sports agency showed, but local citizens watch the big tournaments, even if they may not be that interested in football.
I think that’s right. It is a cultural event and you should cheer for the national team. Even if one is not a fan of the most watched sport in the world. And that the fans will be disappointed? You can’t say that!
The quarter-final match against the Netherlands had the most people watching! An incredible 1.12 million people watched our quarter-final win. Luděk Mádl shared all the data, which was provided by the relevant sources of the Czech Television itself, see for yourself!
Interestingly, the opening match against Scotland had the highest share of viewership! It was watched by 48% of all people who had the TV on at that time. A large part of the population of our country did not miss Patrik Schick’s exclusive goal.
CT also shared data showing the most watched match without the Czech Republic. Logically, it was the final match between Italy and England.
