Sparta and Jablonec know their opponents for the third round of the Europa League. Sparta will face Cyprus’ Famagusta in the event of elimination against Rapid Vienna, while Jablonec will play the worse of Midtjylland vs. Celtic Glasgow.
In the championship part of the draw there is the neighbouring Slovan Bratislava. The latter will play the loser of the pair Cluj vs. Lincoln Red Imps in case of elimination against Young Boys Bern.
Slovan will play the first match on the opponent’s field. The funny thing is that in case of advancement the Bratislava team will face the better of the same pair.
The loser of the match involving Slavia (Ferencváros vs. Žalgiris) will play against the worse of the pair NS Mura (Slovenia) vs. Ludogorets Razgrad (Bulgaria).
Jablonec will play the loser of Celtic vs. Midtjylland in the third round of the Europa League. The Scottish vice-champion would definitely be a better option, they struggled last season and Jablonec certainly has a chance to knock them out. The first game is at the Nisa.
Sparta, in the event of a loss to Rapid Vienna, will play Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus. The latter jumped to fourth place in the league last season and won the Cyprus Cup.
Still, Sparta will be a fairly clear favourite. The first match would be played at Letná.
The first matches are played on August 5, the rematches a week later. The full schedule can be found on the UEFA website.
