Sparta will face Rapid Vienna on Tuesday. At the press conference, Rapid coach Dietmar Kühbauer praised Adam Hložek and Sparta’s work with young talents. What else did he say?

The Rapid coach has followed Adam Hložek, Sparta’s main offensive weapon. Adam was the top scorer in the Fortuna Liga last season and even made it to the senior Euros at the age of 18.

“He’s a two-footed player with a very good shot, he’s always in the penalty area. Hedefinitely has a tremendous career ahead of him,” he said.

Sparta has significantly rejuvenated its team in recent years. The days of Stramaccioni are gone, it is no longer a bet on experienced and expensive old men, but its own offspring. Nineteen-year-old Nigerian Nelson Okeke even made the Champions League squad.

“I expect a tough game, we are up against a renowned opponent. Sparta has a talented and resilient team and a well-balanced squad of young and experienced players.”

Kühbauer is also aware that progressing past Sparta would not only mean a double-header with the famous Monaco, but also the certainty of a Europa League group.

“We have to play a good 90 minutes at home, just like we did next Wednesday in Prague. We can only advance if we do well in both games. Then it would be a wonderful story.”

Stoker Maxmilian Hoffmann also commented on the important knock, believing that if his team wants to succeed they must get a good result at home in front of a full crowd.

“It will be a tough battle. But we don’t have to hide behind anything. If we put in a good performance in the first game, I hope our journey through the competition will continue.”
