Slavia’s opponent for the third round of the Champions League is likely to be Ferencváros Budapest. The Hungarian champion beat Lithuanian Zalgiris Vilnius at home and will take a two-goal lead into the rematch.
The 2-0 win was also witnessed by the Slavija management, who travelled to the Hungarian capital to see their Champions League opponents for themselves.
The match between Celtic Glasgow and Midtjylland was of interest to Jablonec fans. The inferior of this double-header will face the North Bohemian club in the third round of the Europa League.
Celtic unexpectedly led at half-time, but after the change of sides Evander equalised and no further goals fell. There were two red cards for that, Nir Biton on the home side, Midtjylland finished with ten men after Aders Dreyer was sent off.
Unusually, Welsh runners-up The New Saints played the European Conference League preliminary round on Tuesday. They won 5:0 on the ground of Kaunas Žalgiris, with the game already decided at half-time (4:0).
It is therefore virtually certain that The New Saints will advance to the third preliminary round, where they will face the winner of the Viktoria Plzen vs. Dinamo Brest double-header.
