The EURO 2020 Grand Final is here! How do Ruik’s top tipsters see the chances of Italy and England?
After a month of great battles, in which we have seen many amazing but also terrifying moments, we have the last final duel, after which either Italy or England will be victorious.
After a month of great battles in which we have seen many amazing, but also terrifying moments, we have the last final duel, after which either Italy or England will rejoice in victory, driven by the fans at Wembley.
It is the home environment that will be a big advantage for the English who will surely benefit from it, as mentioned by several Ruik editors who have been writing their previews and betting tips for you throughout the tournament.
We therefore asked the most successful ones for their take on how they see the final match.
David Beno: The teams with the best form in the tournament will clash in the final. Both Italy and England have relied on honest defending at the Euros, so I don’t think there will be many goals. Home advantage can help England a lot, but Italy have a more sophisticated style of play, so I think they will win.
Jakub Janás:: Both England and Italy have performed very well in the European Championship so far. Both teams can rely on a functioning defence, which is the basis for success.
Although England will be able to take advantage of the home environment, I predict the chances of success for Italy’s players. But the final match could easily go to extra time. The last two meetings have ended in a draw.
David Jabůrek:: The two really best teams of the tournament have reached the final, so I expect a thrilling and balanced duel. But I am a bit afraid that, given the importance of the match and especially the previous results of both opponents, we won’t see many goals, if any… And the chances for the title? For me it’s really exactly 50/50. Let’s have fun on Sunday night!
Eduard Nosek:: The Italians and the English had different paths to the final. While the Italians made it to the finals after a sovereign ride in the group thanks to two overtimes, the English, after a lacklustre performance in the group, got off to a flying start in the knockout phase. Especially Harry Kane.
Given the performance of the Italians throughout the tournament, I think they will win the final. Before the semi-final I was worried about the performance of Emerson, who was supposed to replace the injured star of the championship Leonardo Spinazzola, but he stood up to it, so I have no reason not to trust them.
Apart from the Italians and the English, perhaps all they want is to see beautiful football like the semi-final duel between Italy and Spain.
