Some of the players were in tears after the dropout, the Portuguese coach admitted. What did he say about Ronaldo?

Thorgan Hazard scored the winner for the Red Devils with a great shot from outside the box. Belgium beat Portugal for the first time since 1989. Coach Santos regretted the missed chances after the game.
“We just couldn’t get the ball in the net. We feel disappointed and sad. The players are crying in the dressing rooms, as are a lot of Portuguese people,” Santos said.
“The players gave everything, they worked hard. But that’s football. Belgium had six shots, one on target and scored, we had 24 shots and hit the bar,” he commented on the large number of missed chances.
“In football you don’t play on merit, you play on goals. We received a goal and couldn’t find an answer,” Santos added sympathetically.
“My players did everything to please the Portuguese people. We may not have won, but we deserved it.”
” Ronaldo scored five goals in the tournament, he didn’t score now, but he behaved like a true captain. He tried to take it upon himself and turn it around. There was no problem with Ronaldo.”
