Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Jadon Sancho, with sources close to the player expecting the deal to be completed within the next fortnight. United are set to send £77m to Dortmund.
The 21-year-old Englishman arrived at Dortmund ahead of the 2017/2018 season. However, he moved to Germany from Manchester United’s main rivals, Manchester City.
He managed to play 4 seasons at Dortmund and scored 50 goals in 137 games. He became a stable member of the starting line-up at the age of 19.
But now he’s headed back to Manchester, not to City, but to United. The Red Devils were interested in Sancho last year, but the transfer fell through on wages.
According to journalist James Ducker, Sancho will receive a salary of £250,000 a week, which will put him in the top ten highest earning players in the Premier League.
Dortmund have agreed a £77m deal with Manchester United, making Sancho the second most expensive transfer in the Premier League.
In addition to Dortmund, United also have to pay their city rival, why? Because City negotiated a 15% off the next sale clause with Dortmund when they sold Sancho.
Sancho is currently with the England squad for the European Championships, so it is believed that the signing will come just after the championship.
