West Ham have decided to strengthen several positions and one of them is the centre of defence, where Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina should come. However, according to Calciomercato, the Italian club has rejected the €18 million offered, valuing their stopper at at least €25 million.
Among other things, David Moyes undoubtedly needs to improve and above all refresh the centre of defence this summer. And the Serbian stopper should be ideal for just that.
Indeed, the 23-year-old Partizan offspring has a great disposition for the style of play that West Ham are known for. He is a power player who is reliable and, at 195cm, will be another dominant player for the Hammers in standard situations.
Given his young age, he has also already racked up 28 starts for the national team. He has already played a total of 133 games for Fiorentina, during which he has also managed to score 13 goals.
However, the Violets did not fare well this season and ended up finishing in 14th place with 40 points. The departure of a key stopper is not exactly welcome and it is no wonder that Fiorentina want an adequate amount to fill the hole that would be created by Milenkovic’s departure in the summer.
West Ham, however, are not the only ones interested in the services of the talented Serbian. According to reports, several teams from the Italian Serie A are also preparing their offers.
In any case, the Hammers are financially strong and Milenkovic could be a great signing who has all the ingredients to become one of the top stoppers in London.
