Will Pavlenka catch in the second league? Werder does not rule out his staying

Jiří Pavlenka’s future remains a mystery. It was widely expected that Werder would want to sell him after relegation, as they need funds, but the club’s management is now saying something different.
Jiri Pavlenka did not exactly have a dream season in Bremen. Werder were relegated and although the Hlučín native had a good and stable performance.
Moreover, the famous German club is suffering from a financial crisis and needs to sell players. Over the summer, according to the German media, it would like to make at least 20 million euros in sales.
Pavlenka, who has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga since his arrival in Germany, was among the players the club wanted to sell.
It was partly expected that Pavlenka would make a good name for himself at the Euros, where he would also increase his value. However, due to injury, this will not happen.
And what did the Werder management say? “First of all, we feel sorry for Jiri that he lost such an opportunity. We are communicating with the doctors, he shouldn’t be out for long,” let the club’s sporting director Clemens Fritz be heard in an interview with Bild.
” We never said we wanted to sell him. We can imagine that he will join us for the new season and fight with us for a return to the elite.”
