The European continent is now focusing its eyes mainly on the ongoing European Championship, but the first Copa América matches were also played on Monday. Argentina and Chile kicked off the tournament, followed by Paraguay and Bolivia. And there was no shortage of beautiful goals.
Lionel Messi has another chance to lead Argentina to the trophy. The Copa América kicked off on Monday, with Argentina taking on Chile in the first match.
Unfortunately, it didn’t end in victory for the Barcelona legend, but it’s not Messi’s fault. The Argentina captain did his best to win, scoring a wonderful goal from a direct kick, creating several chances and was rightfully the man of the match.
Chile levelled the match from a penalty and Argentina could not overturn the 1-1 draw. Patrik Schick’s goal was the goal of the day, but Messi’s goal was definitely worth it!
Another beautiful goal was scored by Paraguay against Bolivia. The match ended 3:1 in favour of the former, although Bolivia scored the first goal of the match.
Alejandro Romero Gamarra, a 26-year-old offensive midfielder who plays in Saudi Arabia’s top competition, equalised at 1:1 with a beautiful volley.
