The home side entered the match much more actively. The first goal came in the second minute when Yussuf Poulsen took advantage of an inaccurate pass from Jaosn Denayer. The Danes took a surprising lead.
Coach Hjulmand’s team was the more active team in the coming minutes. The Danish players tried to take advantage of the fact that the start of the match did not find the Belgian team in an ideal mood.
Not much interesting happened in the first act, so the home team went into the booths with a 1: 0 scoreline. But everything changed at the beginning of the second half when coach Martinez sent Kevin De Bruyne on the field.
The Manchester City international confirmed his reputation as a productive player and in the 55th minute Thorgan Hazard scored. The paper favourite in Group B made his first appearance in the duel.
The next goal for the Belgium squad came in the 70th minute when the 29-year-old midfielder asserted himself. Eden Hazard, who has not played much for Real Madrid, provided the assist.
In the final minutes, Belgium, the top team in the FIFA rankings, had already secured an important three points, which allowed them to celebrate their qualification from the group stage. The Danes will face Russia in their next match for the promotion position.
