This technical talent was born on February 14, 1992 in Denmark. He started out at Odense but was immediately bought by Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam. Eriksen won fans over with his professional demeanor, great kicking technique and reading of the game.
He soon managed to win the best young player under 21 award. At the World Cup in South Africa, he became the youngest player ever. He also managed to win several Danish Footballer of the Year titles.
He has always been an assistant rather than a goal scorer. The Danish Tomas Rosicky. Not since the Laudrup brothers has there been a more technical footballer in the Danish national team. He played 113 games for Ajax and scored 25 goals. Meanwhile, he became a mainstay of the national team and his next steps were to the Premier League.
In 2013, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur for 12 million euros. He adapted quickly and became once again a key figure in the young promising team. He managed 226 games and 51 goals.
And a pile of beautiful assists, direct kicks and corner kicks. This year he won the title with Inter after transferring from England.
If we count all the interstate games from the juniors to the A team, Christian Eriksen is almost at 150 games. He is indispensable and already a Danish icon. He can still do a lot.
Even if he retires due to health after the Euros, he has left an indelible mark on international championships and clubs. We wish him much strength for the days and weeks ahead.
