Tomáš Souček is preparing for the EURO with the Czech national team in South Tyrol, where he started a short training camp before the tournament. The Czech midfielder had two things to be happy about today. A win in the first training match and a nomination for the best player of the last Premier League season!
Tomas Soucek’s team won the first training match at the Czech national team training camp: Mandous, Schick, Brabec, Kalas, Vydra, Barák, Ševčík, Kadeřábek, Sadílek, Bořil.
The ex-Slav captain must have been even happier to be nominated for the best player in the Premier League, which is a truly incredible feat. He will compete with the absolute elite for this title!
Along with the Czech midfielder, the nominees are De Bruyne, Dias (both Manchester City), Fernandes (Manchester United), Grealish (Aston Villa), Kane (Tottenham), Mount (Chelsea), Salah (Liverpool).
Tomas Soucek tweeted that he was honoured by the nomination and a wave of responses followed.
“Well deserved, I hope you win!” commented one of the biggest West Ham fan sites.
“We’re honoured to have you, ” added another major Hammers fan site.
“Well deserved Thomas,” wrote the Premier League itself!
“King of the potato salad, your contribution (to the team) has been phenomenal all season. You played with pride and honour wearing our badge. You deserve this award,” a West Ham fan commented on the nomination.
Tomáš Souček’s statement
“Of course I am very happy about the nomination. It’s a proof that I had a good season and that I was valuable to the team. It’s always been more important for me to be successful as a team, so I’m most happy about what West Ham have done this season.”
“But to be in the same nomination with the best players in the world is obviously a great honour for me. Now I’m focusing on helping the national team at the Euros.”
