Harsh punishment for monkey shouting or How is racism dealt with in England?
Racism is a much addressed and discussed issue these days. Socially, it is necessary to take a stand against it and fight against it. Even the Manchester City fan who received a severe punishment knows this.

Racism is indeed a very hot topic everywhere in the world at the moment and is being fought uncompromisingly. There are many cases that have gradually raised this topic, especially Czech football fans will probably think of the recent Ondrej Kudela dispute in the Rangers match.
In a Europa League match, as we all know by now, Kúdela whispered an as yet unspecified thing to Glen Kamara. For this offence, the Slavia stopper received a severe punishment, the form of which we all already know.
Now, however, in the English top flight, a slightly different matter has been dealt with. In the Manchester derby in 2019, a Manchester City fan insulted Jesse Lingard, Fred and Anthony Martial.
He made monkey chants and other derogatory and offensive gestures at the Manchester United players. However, his behaviour was caught on camera and he was subsequently accused of racism.
Now, his punishment has finally been decided by the court, which has been looking into the 42-year-old’s charges since last year. So what sentence did the court give him?
The court imposed a three-year ban from any stadium in the UK on the fan of the club, which is based at the Etihad Stadium, and also fined him £500, which is roughly CZK 14,800 in Czech crowns.
According to Sky Sports, the club’s management banned him from its stadium for life!
It is very likely that this fan will remember his actions for the rest of his life. It also raises a fundamental question – was it worth it?
