More problems in the German national team? Players to protest against coach’s tactics
The European Championships are around the corner and things are not looking good for Germany. Much has already been written about the stability of Joachim Löw’s charges’ results, but now another problem has been added.
The European Championships are around the corner and things are not looking good for Germany. Much has already been written about the stability of Joachim Löw’s charges’ results, but now another problem has been added.
Germany are not looking very confident ahead of the European Championship. Although Joachim Löw claimed that we cannot count on a great success this year, at least by name our neighbours have a great team.
Since their embarrassing 6-0 loss to Spain in November, Germany have only managed to win two games, beating Iceland 3-0 and Romania 1-0.
However, the Germans have failed to win their last two matches. In their last World Cup qualifying match they lost 2:1 to North Macedonia and now they drew 1:1 with Denmark just before the start of the Euros.
Besides, against Denmark the eleven started with a new system, three stoppers came into the game and the players don’t seem to like it very much.
The German daily Bild reported that Löw’s charges are protesting against the three-stopper system and prefer to play with four defenders. Moreover, the players are said to want a much more offensive approach to football than the coach envisages.
Such problems are certainly not something that makes Löw and the whole of German football happy. Especially given the way the German group is looking at the Euros. They will face France, Portugal and Hungary.
