If players only have sex 4 times a month, they can’t play in my team, laughs Simeone

Diego Simeone is known for his demanding attitude towards his players and the tough discipline he demands from them both on and off the pitch. But at the same time, he knows that the players have needs too, and he even demands those from them.
The Argentine coach is known for his temperament. He never stays seated on the bench, jumping up and down at the touchline throughout the match to give instructions, argue with the referee, celebrate goals and gesticulate vehemently.
It’s the same in real life. The Atlético Madrid coach visited El Partidazo de COPE, where he was asked a personal question by presenter Joseba Larrañaga.
“A Spanish study says that Spaniards have sex an average of 56 times a year. Are you more Spanish or Argentinian in this aspect?” was the question.
“What did you say? 56? 56 a year… How much is that per month? Four times a month? Four times a month, definitely not…,” laughed “El Cholo”.
“With sex four times a month you can’t play for my team,” Simeone added with a laugh. “If we have it 15 times a month? I won’t say, but we have a good average,” the Argentine finished the topic.
Simeone has led Atlético Madrid since 2011. He managed to win the Europa League in his first season with the club, a feat he has since repeated. He also won La Liga twice and reached the Champions League final twice, but lost to Real Madrid both times.
This year, it looked like the end of the cycle as the Colchoneros finished as high as fourth in the Champions League group stage and things didn’t look good in La Liga for long either. There was talk of a summer exit at the Civítas Metropolitano, but in the end Simeone should continue.
