José Mourinho: The only club I don’t have much sympathy for is Tottenham Hotspur
José Mourinho mentioned in a recent press conference the fact that he is close to all the clubs he has coached. But with one exception. That is Tottenham Hotspur in London. He reportedly has no sympathy for them.

The iconic and now legendary football coach is on course to become the first manager in history to win all three European Cups, the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League.
He reached the final of the latter competition with AS Roma of Italy and will face Sevilla of Spain in the final.
It continues its successful campaign across Europe. Last season, the Portuguese dominated the first ever Conference League when Rome outplayed Feyenoord Rotterdam in the final.
At a recent press conference, “The Special One” talked about his past coaching engagements and that they were not few and far between.
He respects all of them and maintains friendly relations with the clubs, with only one exception. One of the teams he still has sympathy for is Tottenham Hotspur.
“I hope the Tottenham fans don’t hold it against me, but the only club in my career that I don’t fully sympathise with is Tottenham,” Mourinho said.
“Probably because the stadium was empty during Covid, probably because Mr Levy didn’t let me win any trophies, anyway they are the only ones”, he made clear about the club’s relationship.
The Portuguese coach replaced Mauricio Pochettino and held the role of head coach for 17 months before being sacked by the management just before the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City in 2021.
The Roosters thus became his first stint where Mourinho failed to win any trophies. After his departure, an interim manager, Ryan Mason, took the bench.
Spurs went on to try their luck in the form of Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte, in both coaching cases without success. Mason is now back in the role of interim coach.
