And now the Czech national footballer himself has come out with a statement, admitting that the season is unfortunately over for him.

“Unfortunately, the season is over for me, but we are working hard to get rid of the pain before the last league game and to be 100% ready for the next season. I wish my teammates the best for the rest of the matches, there is still a lot to achieve,” he wrote on his Instagram.

And he’s right. Bayer are currently sixth in the league and are also in the semi-finals of the Europa League, from which they can qualify for the Champions League with a win. So the goal is clear.
