On Friday, the Czech women’s national football team beat Morocco, which will not be missing at this year’s World Cup, where our players unfortunately did not qualify. In the second preparatory match they did not celebrate the victory, they fell to Austria 0:2.
In Chomutov, the Czech women’s national football team defeated Morocco 2:0. The striker Tereza Szewieczková scored a hat-trick in both cases.
The second preparatory match was not a success. Coach Karel Rada’s team was unnecessarily losing the ball and in the first half they pulled the ball out of their own net twice, but neither of the goals was due to offside.
The Austrians added an offside goal in the second half, but the score changed shortly after. Twenty-one-year-old Zurich forward Marie Therese Hobinger scored after an hour of play.
Six minutes later, Austria scored for the second time, this time by twenty-five-year-old Hoffenheim defender Katharina Naschenweng.
The Czechs did not get the ball into the net and the match ended 0:2. What did coach Rada, who praised his charges after Morocco, say after the match?
“In the first half we had too many turnovers against such an opponent. We needed more quality in the game, in the midfield, unfortunately we didn’t manage to do that. Despite that, we created two or three chances where we could have gone more emphatically to the end.
The second half improved, it’s a shame we got those goals we didn’t need to. We tried to play up at the end, we could have been more incisive in the end again, or finish better, but that’s what’s bothering us most at the moment,” he said in an interview with the national team website.
