The Czech women’s national football team has two preparatory matches ahead of them, during which they will play Morocco and Austria. Coach Karel Rada has not forgotten many of the mainstays in the nomination, with goalkeeper Barbora Votíková returning after a long injury.
The women’s national football team met on the occasion of the next national team meeting, during which they will meet Morocco and Austria in preparatory matches.
Coach Karel Rada’s team will be looking to build on their performance in Australia, where a weakened team defeated Jamaica and managed to embarrass the home team in the first half.
This time, too, we are counting on some losses; due to injuries, the coach cannot count on Andrea Staskova or Petra Bertholdova, while goalkeeper Barbora Votíková, who has been struggling with a serious knee injury for months, returns.
The most experienced player in terms of the number of matches played in the national team is Klára Cahynová from Sevilla with 91 starts, while 20-year-old forward Jana Žufánková from Slovácko and one year younger defender from Liberec Dominika Huvarová will be able to make their debuts.
“It will be two more quality matches. Morocco is going to the World Cup and the Austrians played a good EURO and overall they have players who play in foreign clubs.
I’m sure we won’t expect anything easy, both opponents will be completely different, which will be a good test for us as well. We have new girls here, so I hope they will take it as an opportunity to prove themselves and I personally am looking forward to the match,” said Cahynova in an interview for the national team website.
The opening match against Morocco will be played on Thursday, April 6 at 20:30 in Chomutov. Tickets will be sold on the day of the match at the ticket offices for 50 CZK.
The match against Austria is scheduled for 11 April at 19:15 at the Wiener Neustadt stadium near Vienna.
