Thanksgiving in front of the North Stand in Eden? For the first and I think last time in my life, Krejci joked after the win over Poland
Jaroslav Šilhavy’s team had a great night, beating Poland 3-1 in Eden. Ladislav Krejci Jr. scored after just 27 seconds, giving him something to talk about after the game.
A great night for the Czech national football team. Right at the beginning of the qualification for the European Championship 2024, they managed to win against Poland 3: 1. Two quick opening goals helped everything.
The first one was scored by Ladislav Krejčí Jr., who scored his first goal for the national team and at the same time became the fastest goal in the history of independent Czech football. He needed only 27 seconds to score his goal.
“Emotions were very strong. I don’t even remember the goal because it was something incredible. These are things I will never forget when I remember them. Itwill be hard to top,” CT Sport quotes Krejci as saying about the speed of his goal.
After the game, Krejci praised his cooperation with David Jurásek, who made a successful debut for the national team. He said they sometimes spend time together in Brno and they know each other from Zbrojovka.
He also admitted that winning by two goals after three minutes certainly helped Jaroslav Šilhavy’s team, as it is not easy for any visiting team to get two goals right from the start. However, they managed to meet the coach’s instructions.
As a Spartan, however, he could enjoy an unconventional thanksgiving in front of the North Stand in Eden. “For the first time in my life, and I think for the last time, it was the North Stand. It was interesting. But this is the national team and it goes sideways,” he is clear.
Poland is seen as the toughest opponent in the group and Krejci feels the same way. He believes, among other things, that the important win will kick-start the team for the rest of the qualification and that they will be able to continue in a similar vein.
The next match is on Monday, on the soil of Moldova. They drew 1-1 with Faroe Islands in the first round.
