Hands off! Haaland can get a fabulous contract thanks to Real Madrid’s interest, Manchester City offer a hefty sum
Erling Haaland is proving this season that he can conquer almost any competition in terms of goals, scoring goal after goal for Manchester City. It’s no wonder there’s talk of Real Madrid’s interest again. But the English club is planning to respond.
Erling Haaland is proving this season that he can conquer almost any competition in terms of goals, scoring goal after goal for Manchester City. It’s no wonder there’s talk of Real Madrid’s interest again. But the English club is planning to respond.
The Norwegian sharpshooter is exceeding all expectations this season. Everyone was curious to see how Erling Haaland would do after his transfer from the Bundesliga to the Premier League, which should be a bit tougher. But the Manchester City star’s numbers seemed to suggest otherwise.
Still only twenty-two years old, the footballer has played 37 competitive games this season with an incredible record of 42 goals scored and 5 assists. His €60 million departure from Dortmund now seems like a sacrilege.
At Manchester City, however, he is now facing a potential punishment for breaching financial fair-play. According to the British media, revocation of titles or even elimination from the Premier League is in play. But the verdict is awaited, and the topic is currently quiet.
Instead, it has been reported that Real Madrid are interested in Haaland and are looking for a new attacking star. But the Norwegian is under contract in England until the summer of 2027 and unless the Citizens have to play lower competition, it is unlikely that a transfer will happen.
Moreover, one of the best English clubs of recent years intends to respond to the Spanish giant’s interest. According to The Sun, Haaland is expected to be offered a new contract that would extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium until 2028.
But that’s not the most important thing. The attacking star currently earns £375,000 a week, along with Kevin De Bruyne and David de Gea, they are the highest earning players in the league. But Haaland could soon make a big splash.
The Citizens are reportedly preparing a contract that will give Haaland an income of £500k a week, which would be a clear signal to Real Madrid to keep their hands off him.
