UFC 286 took place over the weekend and there were many interesting and attractive fights at the O2 Arena in London. All three cards went well and the home crowd got the best ending.
Leon Edwards was able to defeat Kamara Usman on points in the title fight and defend his welterweight title. It was his first defence, having won the title last year after stopping Usman with a high kick in the fifth round.
But combat sports fans were especially looking out for the main preliminary bout. For Justin Gaethje, one of the most attractive fighters of the present day, was on the card. And he was up against the fierce and unbridled Rafael Fiziev, another very attractive fighter.
A very attractive stand-up battle was expected and what was expected was delivered. The fight was one of the best of the tournament, despite coming down to the points. Gaethje was the winner and the match was hailed as the match of the night.
That meant one thing. Both fighters were able to add a nice $50,000 to their paychecks. In addition, Gaethje met his norm in collecting bonuses.
In fact, in his 11 fights in the UFC, Gaethje has racked up 11 bonuses and a performance or fight of the night. In total, he earned a whopping $550,000 in bonuses alone, or nearly 12 million crowns.
Every Gaethje fight is closely watched. Fans always look forward to seeing him because he almost always delivers an unforgettable spectacle.
