Czech Republic vs. Poland: preview and betting tips

After four months we will see the Czech national team in action again. This time, however, not in a friendly match, but in a EURO 2024 qualification match, Jaroslav Šilhavy’s team will challenge Poland in Eden. What to bet on?

The Czech Republic and Poland are the clear favourites in Group E. They will be joined by Moldova, Albania and the Faroe Islands. Only Albania could have a say in the final standings, otherwise both teams should have no problem advancing.

Even a loss to Poland would not be a disaster for the Czech team. However, a good start to the qualification would certainly come in handy.

But Poland is certainly not an easy team to start. Moreover, the World Cup participant in Qatar has a new coach, Portuguese Fernando Santos, who won the first ever trophy for the Iberian country with Cristiano Ronaldo and co.

The main star is logically Robert Lewandowski, the Barcelona sharpshooter. But it is also worth mentioning the very fit Piotr Zielinski of Naples and Wojciech Szczeszny of Juventus.

Poland’s defence, on the other hand, is falling apart. The main stoppers Kamil Glik and Jan Bednarek will be unavailable due to injury, Santos cannot count on another stopper Kamil Piatkowski. To make matters worse, Napoli right back Bartosz Bereszynski is also out.

Moreover, the Czech Republic is very strong at home. They have lost only one of their last 13 games and boast an 8-4-1 record. It lost only to Portugal, but earned a draw against Spain or Belgium.

Moreover, Jaroslav Šilhavy’s charges will not want to spoil the proud record of the Czech national team, i.e. the fact that the Czechs have not missed a single European Championship since they became an independent country.

Considering the strength of the Czech footballers on home soil and the disintegrated defence of Poland, which will also be playing under a new coach for the first time, I think the Czechs will win.
