Carragher: Mbappé must leave PSG. The sooner he is at Real Madrid, the better

PSG has had another fiasco. For the second time in a row, the star-studded team finished in the eighth round of the Champions League and will not win the trophy of the most prestigious competition again. And experts are advising Kylian Mbappe to leave Paris as soon as possible.
Every young footballer’s dream is to win the Champions League. And for Kylian Mbappé, it’s no different. But even though the French footballer is one of the best in the world at the moment and has been at the top level since he was 17, he will celebrate his 25th birthday this year and the trophy is still nowhere to be found.
The club selection is primarily to blame. For to fulfil his dream he chose PSG, who are going at it with an eye on power and money. But even the Qatari sheikhs must have realised that money can’t buy success in the Champions League.
PSG is just a collection of individuals, there is absolutely no team spirit. But it’s the spirit that often decides these games. The Parisians may win one or two tough games through individual quality, but they simply cannot win the whole competition.
And if Mbappé wants to win the club’s most valuable trophy, he must go. Yet he has already had the opportunity to do so, he was a free agent before the season, and he was in agreement on everything with Real Madrid, the absolute king of the competition, where they have the patent on winning.
But Mbappé pulled a last minute stunt, prioritised his money at PSG and became the highest paid player in the world. But in the Champions League, it was another fiasco, and in the eighth round.
After the Bayern game, well-known football expert and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher sent one piece of advice to Mbappe in Munich.
“Mbappé must leave Paris. The sooner he is at Real Madrid, the better,” he said in a TV studio after PSG’s loss to Bayern.
It is an incredible shame and a waste of talent to keep a player like that at PSG, where the chances of winning the Champions League are very slim. The question will be whether Mbappé will try his luck elsewhere this summer or not until 2024, when his contract expires at Parc Princes and he is a free agent.
