Haaland at Real Madrid? Agent backs speculation about his link to the Madrid club
Haaland is reportedly targeting Real Madrid in the future. The footballer’s agent has backed speculation about his link with the royal club.
Haaland is breaking records on the islands
Erling Haaland is one of the hottest commodities among the current footballing gems. When the now 22-year-old Norwegian striker was rolling for Borussia Dortmund a few years ago, most of Europe’s big clubs were vying for him.
In the end, €60 million was enough to see the young Norwegian star move to Manchester City. He signed a contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2027, but even then Real Madrid were circling him.
Before signing for the British giant, he travelled to sunny Spain where he and his father visited the Royal Club of Madrid’s facilities. Eventually, though, he was acquired by the English big club and the predatory Norwegian immediately caught on in Pep Guardiola’s team.
Haaland has been shattering all sorts of records since his arrival in Manchester and leads the Premier League scorers table with 27 goals in just 24 games. That’s a feat no player in the club’s history has ever achieved.
Furthermore, only two players in the long history of the competition have had better numbers when it comes to their debut seasons. Andy Cole scored 34 goals in the 1993/1994 season and Kevin Phillips scored 30 times in the 1999/2000 season. But Haaland still has 12 games to go to break even that record.
But the Norwegian footballer’s agent has given City fans a bit of a scare
So if he ever decides to leave Manchester City, he will certainly have no shortage of admirers. The idea of a future move to Real Madrid has been backed by the agent of Norwegian forward Rafael Piment, which has somewhat scared City fans.
“In the event of his departure, there are Premier League teams, of course, but there is also Real Madrid,” Pimenta told Goal.com. “They have something special that is the dream of all players. Madrid keeps that magic going all the time, especially when it comes to the Champions League,” she hinted at the Madrid team’s magic in the millionaire competition.
Real Madrid will surely lure the Norwegian star when his contract comes to an end. Even as soon as it was signed, City’s management had to take off the table a clause that would have allowed Haaland to leave for the royal club in 2024.
Pep Guardiola did not want to hear about such a clause at all. But the club’s financial fair-play issues could hasten the Norwegian star’s departure, but the Spanish big club will have to wait for their opportunity for now.
