Viktor Pešta was supposed to be one of the main faces of the first tournament of the Polish KSW organization on Czech soil. Due to illness he could not attend the match. His opponent called him a simulator, but the Czech fighter answered him promptly.
The second Czech in the UFC, former Octagon champion and former PFL fighter recently signed with the Polish organization KSW. He was supposed to be one of the main faces of the tournament, which will take place this Saturday in Liberec.
Viktor Peshta was supposed to fight Polish veteran Daniel Omielanczuk at the gala. In his last fight he controversially defeated Michal Martinek on points, although even the organization itself disagreed with the result.
The fight could have been interesting if only for the reason that Martinek managed to beat Peshta under the cover of the Octagon and it is possible that Peshta and Martinek will also face each other in KSW.
However, neither of them will appear in Liberec. Peshta cancelled his fight with Omielanczuk due to illness. “It is true. I got covid again. Yes, covid, apparently it still exists. With this I want to apologize to KSW fans and especially to my opponent Daniel,” he expressed on Instagram.
But Omielanczuk doesn’t believe the Czech fighter’s illness. In fact, in an interview with InTheCage.pl, he called Pesta a simulacrum who did everything possible to make the fight not happen, as he didn’t want the fight from the beginning.
Yet Pešta is one of those fighters who are always looking for the toughest possible challenges. Whether it was in the UFC, or in the case of the PFL signing, where he faced dangerous opponents, which is unfortunately how it turned out.
And how did the Czech fighter actually react to the accusations? “Daniel, don’t worry at all. We will meet very soon. But now you should concentrate on your upcoming fight instead of talking,” Peshta was heard saying.
