Best goalie? Soucek! Chelsea are angry at not conceding a clear penalty, even the fans are furious
In recent weeks he has been sitting on the bench, but after the London derby with Chelsea the internet is full of midfielder Tomáš Souček. With his hand in the whitewash, he knocked Conor Gallagher’s goal attempt out of the net, which not only Blues fans are taking hard.
In recent weeks, he has been sitting on the bench, but after the London derby with Chelsea, the internet is full of midfielder Tomáš Souček. With his hand in the whitewash, he knocked Conor Gallagher’s goal attempt out of the net, which not only Blues fans are taking hard.
Tomas Soucek played a very specific game. He came on in the 12th minute due to an injury to Lucas Paqueta. In the 84th minute he scored a goal to make it 2-1 to West Ham, but the head referee called it off after consulting VAR.
Moments later, Soucek jumped into a shot by Conor Gallagher and the visiting players immediately signalled hand. And the captain of the Czech national team indeed used his left arm to help the ball out of the Hammers goal.
Alongside the protesting Blues players, Chelsea’s official Twitter account reacted to the controversy. “Soucek pulled off a superb save against Conor Gallagher.”
The British humour continued. After the match ended, the official account continued by responding to the FIFA World Cup tweet. When asked who the fans considered the best goalkeeper and goalkeeper of the past year, Chelsea understandably wrote the name of the former Prague Slavia player.
And the fans were angry too. “ For five minutes they examine a clear offside for West Ham, but the clear penalty for Chelsea is not given even half a second.”
Fan Paul, on the other hand, did not understand that the change of direction of the ball was not already noted by the referee on the field of play. “The referee and VAR are a sham. Absolutely robbed Chelsea. That’s the cleanest penalty I’ve ever seen,” he is clear.
Hammers fans counter with memories of the autumn fixture in which a controversial foul on Edouard Mendy took West Ham’s goal to 1-1. “I think we’re equal,” wrote Alfie and Raphael agreed: ” It’s karma for Bowen’s foul.”
