On Tuesday, we will see the return of the Champions League and with it the clash of the two giants. PSG will welcome the famous Bayern Munich to the Parc des Princes. Both teams have only the highest ambitions and are eager not only to reach the next stage, but to reach the Eared Cup itself.
While Bayern seem to be relatively fit again, having managed to win three games in a row after three draws, PSG’s crisis seems to have just peaked. The Parisians have won only two of their last five matches.
Moreover, Christophe Galtier had to suffer through the last two games as PSG lost both of them. In the Cup, his side fell to Olympique Marseille, then a weakened squad was run over by Monaco.
It’s worth mentioning that Kylian Mbappé, who hasn’t played in recent games, was also expected to miss the game against Bayern. Lionel Messi also missed the game against Monaco and his start on Tuesday was in doubt. Marco Verratti’s health was also addressed.
Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann was cautious. He paid little attention to reports of injuries to the opposition’s biggest stars. He claimed that he would prepare for the strongest PSG and that he did not give much weight to the aforementioned information.
And it seems he did the right thing. In fact, both Mbappé and Messi trained with the rest of their team on Monday, preparing for the duel with Bayern. And so did Verratti.
So there is talk in the media and on social media of a miraculous recovery. But PSG needs another miracle. A reunification. In France, there has been nothing but problems among the players of the Parisian team.
