Inter Milan needs money. So all summer long there has been speculation about the departure of star striker Romelu Lukaku. The Italian champion was now supposed to receive a generous offer from Chelsea, yet he turned it down. However, the London outfit are apparently close to the required sum.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter Milan have received a very interesting offer for their offensive star. In fact, Chelsea are thinking about bringing back Romelu Lukaku and are obviously serious about the transfer.

Italian journalists claim that Chelsea have offered Inter 100 million euros and Marcos Alonso as a bonus. But the Italian champion has gratefully declined.

However, this may not be the end. On the contrary. The Blues are said to be close to the amount Inter will be able to agree to as they are financially languishing.

La Repubblica claims that Inter are demanding a sum of 130 million for their star, but it could be the sum of the transfer sum for Lukaku and the value of the player being replaced. Alonso, for example, is worth €12 million according to Transfermarkt.

That would leave Chelsea to pay the full 18 million, or offer one of their more valuable players in exchange.

In short, Inter are aware of the importance of Lukaku and therefore are certainly not going to give him up for free. But everything may also depend on the player himself, who has no reason to leave the club.

At Inter, Lukaku has got into the form of his life, he enjoys football to the maximum. Some Italian media then claim that if the club decides to sell someone, it will be Lautaro Martinez, whose agent did not agree to extend his contract, which expires in the summer of 2023.

It’s going to be an interesting summer of transfers.
